Transport Group DAO
The aim of Transport Groups is to reduce the number of cars owned. Developing Transport Groups as Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAO) makes it possible for users and providers to co-own and share governance of new services instead of owning privately used cars.
In the case of P2P shared EVs, someone can be both a provider and a consumer; a 'Prosumers'. The owner of an EV can separate their role as provider from their role as user. This makes it possible for all users to have equal control over their access to new shared services, and their responsibility for covering costs.
-
Transport Groups can be formed by people who have compatible needs. This gives them confidence that a shared EV will be available when they need it, even if they are not the owner
-
New services that are interdependent can be integrated online before changes to car ownership are made on the ground. New services, such as cycling, change a driver’s need to own a car and their compatibility to share one instead
-
Linking the development of shared services with reduction in car ownership also makes it possible for:
-
Drivers to link Clean Air Zone payments to specific Transport Groups
-
Voluntary Carbon Credits to provide new revenue streams from the offsetting of carbon emissions
